She has inspired us for 25 years and today was Oprah Winfrey‘s last show.

After two huge shows earlier this week filled with thousands of people and A-list celebrities, Oprah ended this chapter with an intimate conversation from her audience-filled Chicago studio.

The Oprah Show has taped 4,561 shows with over 30, 000 guests and viewed in over 150 countries with millions of viewers worldwide. Ms. O has also helped 64, 688 students with scholarships!

We’ve seen her through countless of set changes, fluctuations in her weight battle and with and without make-up!

Just like many of you, I grew up watching and sometimes, sneaking to watch, “The Oprah Show.” Through Oprah my life has been filled with my own “aha moments.”

And though she may not be of Caribbean descent, her show has employed workers of Caribbean heritage, welcomed many Caribbean-born guests on her stage and inspired and influenced a lot of Caribbean people in so many different, effective and powerful ways. Through “The Oprah Show” many were able to get out of abusive relationships or to grow the entrepreneurial seed she planted into their spirits or be encouraged to forgive and to give back!

“Everybody wants to be heard,” is what she said today. Oprah has been the person who held the microphone for those who couldn’t speak, and those who couldn’t ask and those who wanted to know and for those who needed to be heard!

In Oprah‘s biography you will see that she is a Television Pioneer, Magazine Founder & Editorial Director, Producer/Actress, Online Leader, Philanthropist, Television Programming Creator, Satellite Radio Programmer, Broadway Producer, just to name a few, but to many of us, she is a friend in our heads (Wendy William’s voice)!

I am happy there is an Oprah, for she has also inspired me in her own way to tap into myself, believe and pursue!
In parting she encourage her viewers to “live your best life” and do “what sparks the light in you!”
Always so timely.

Do you remember when Oprah did the “Butterfly Dance”…I couldn’t believe it!

Or when Oprah visited the Bahamas back in 1999 to host the “Sexiest Island Man” contest where Trinidad native Paul Price was named the winner and “King of the Caribbean!”

Famous author Terry McMillian got her groove back with her Jamaican boyfriend turned ex-husband Jonathan Plummer, who revealed on The Oprah Show that he was gay.

Oprah surely knows how to connect with her audience, in parting she gave out her email address oprah@oprah.com.

“I won’t say goodbye, I’ll just say until we meet again, to God be the glory.”Oprah Winfrey

Until we meet again Oprah!
