So….remember when the rumors were spinning about Machel Montano tweeting to his fans that he would be performing at the White House? I decided not to jump on the bandwagon of the story but rather question it with my article: RUMOR OR FACT? Machel Montano to perform at the White House. In that story I wrote, “I would love for his Publicist or the man himself to send us at JAYBLESSED.com an official statement.”
Well the next day, an official statement was posted on his website and on his Facebook fan page. And I posted this story: CONFIRMED: MACHEL MONTANO – FIRST SOCA ARTISTE TO PERFORM AT THE WHITE HOUSE
Well hear nah…..the post on his website gone and the post on his facebook fan page deleted!!!!!!!
The plot thickens, my girl Saucy from Trinidad Carnival Diaries posted this one her page:
I am trying not to draw conclusions too early here but, was this all a publicity stunt or viral campaign by Machel Montano and his camp TO GET an invitation to perform at the White House? What happened to the official statement on his website? Was he even invited to perform???? Would he even stoop so low to lie to his fans? Or did Obama say, “Nah…dem Trinis coming to storm de White House and mash up my lawn…sorry Machel!”
People, I’m scratching my head but I promise to get to the bottom of this.
What do you think is really going on?
