July 1st is International Reggae Day.
For International Reggae Day 2011, 250 songs will be available for listening on the website www.ireggaeday.com. The songs will cover 50 years of reggae, from 1956 to 2006, including music from Harry Belafonte, Lord Flea, Burning Spear, Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Sugar Minott, Uprising Roots band, Mutabaruka and Bob Marley to Raging Fyah, Tarrus Riley, TOK, Leiba and Shereita Lewis.
International Reggae Day was started back in 1994 by Andrea Davis of Jamaica Arts Holdings and has since grown into international observance.
