One of the world’s most renowned Soca artist is Alison Hinds.
She was born in London, England to Bajan parents. In 1987, she joined the band Square One and recorded several albums with the band before leaving in 2004 after the birth of her daughter.
Alison won Barbados’ Road March in 1996 and 1997, and Party Monarch competition in 1997. In 2005, she formed her own band, “The Alison Hinds Show.” Her latest album “Caribbean Queen” was released in 2010 and contains collaborations with Shaggy, Richie Spice, and Jah Cure.
Currently Alison Hinds lives with her family, husband Edward Walcott and daughter, Saharan, on a privately owned horse farm in Barbados, which her husband manages.
