In case you missed it, earlier this month St. Vincent Soca monarch fans filled Victoria Park to see their 18 local soca stars take the Carnival City stage to vie for the crown.

2011 St. Vincent Soca Monarch - FIREMAN

The event which is the biggest event in the country’s cultural calendar saw three time reigning soca monarch champion Gamal ‘Skinny Fabulous’ Doyle defend his title with his 2011 hit ‘The Cave.’

However, in the end the Soca Monarch title was won by Delroy ‘Fireman’ Hooper with his soca hit “Animal.”

Here is a list of all of the finalist for the St. Vincent Soca Monarch 2011:
Lawrence ‘Koyaba’ Jack (Granpa Cocoa), Montgomery ‘Demus’ LaBorde (Dis is Madness), Jamaal ‘Fimba’ Jardine (Me nah eat), Lornette ‘Fya Empress’ Nedd (Delinquent), Delroy ‘Fireman’ Hooper (Animal), James ‘Jamesy P’ James (No Prisoners), Godfrey Dublin (Any number cud play), Godwin ‘Gao’ Oliver (Noon), Edison ‘Lively’ Mc Dowall (Tek dat), Hance John (Jump), Raeon ‘Maddzart’ Primus (Flock up di place), St Clair ‘Donkey Man’ Lewis (Georgetown mash up), Armstrong ‘Strong’ Williams (Tie me), Dennis Bowman (Do what ah want), Shertz ‘Problem Child’ James (We miserable), Shernelle ‘Skarpyon’ Williams (Like it) and Travis ‘Wiz Kid’ Lynch (Hype up).

Here is the top four results for 2011 Soca Monarch:

1ST PLACE: Delroy ‘Fireman’ Hooper – Animal

2ND PLACE: Gamal ‘Skinny Fabulous’ Doyle – Cave man

3RD PLACE: Godwin ‘Gao’ Oliver – Noon

4TH PLACE: James ‘Jamesy P’ James -No Prisoners

Godwin ‘Gao’Oliver won the 2011 Road March with his contribution Sheep.
