Bay-C dishes on what’s really going on with Dancehall group – T.O.K.

Roshaun “Bay-C” Clarke, member of the popular, veteran Dancehall group, T.O.K has outlined his views relating to the ongoing rift that’s putting the group’s future in danger.

Last month, fellow TOK member, Craig “Craigy T” Thompson revealed via Blackberry Broadcast message that he was taking a break from recording with TOK due to circumstances beyond his control. He later explained that creative differences were the focal point of the rising tension within the group. Bay-C echoes Craigy T’s sentiments; explaining in an interview with Tallawah Magazine these creative differences have been existent for some time now.

Bay-C intimated that the level of frustration within the quartet was evident given the various ideas each member had for certain songs. Referring to the views Craigy T expressed earlier, Bay-C claimed that given the sharp contrast in ideas, one member might find another member’s idea as detrimental towards the group’s progress; sparking thoughts that the rest of the group are fighting out those ideas. Such compromising of views between the members has cause dissatisfaction within the group & a desire for creative freedom is what’s frustrated group members, particularly Craigy T.

Nevertheless, Bay-C implied such issues & tension are expected within any group & made it clear that the issues weren’t personal. Furthermore, Bay-C implied that the friendship amongst the four members of TOK is still strong despite their issues & that they are like family, though he admitted that now may be the time for each member to find his own individual bearings but admitted it may be time for each member to find themselves on an individual level. TOK consists of the aforementioned Bay-C & Craigy T as well as Xavier “Flexx” Davidson & Alistaire “Alex” McCalla. The Dancehall quartet is known for several hit singles such as “Footprints,” “Gal Yuh A Lead,” & “Chi Chi Man.” The group also unveiled videos for their singles, “No Sah,” & “God Pickney,” featuring RJR Ruption host & the self-proclaimed “Fluffy Diva”, Ms. Kitty.
