Award-winning Trinidadian-born costume designer Celia Snell better known as Sherzel is back with a bang this year to defend her title in the West Indian Labor Day Children’s carnival with her presentation of “Dazzle Me, Dazzle You, With Color.”

Sherzel’s impressive solo debut of her children’s presentation last year gained her first place in the Kiddies Carnival’s medium-band category and her team is back to defend their title.

Her success from last year has shown in the numbers this year, as her band has upgraded from medium to the big band category with 300+ young masqueraders ready to dazzle the crowds and judges.

“The eight-section band, will showcase a kaleidoscope of colorful and cute children’s outfits in an array of Baby Blue, Sparkling Shimmer White, Glitter Dust, Brilliant “Bling-Out” Brown, Gorgeous Green, Brilliant Red and Luscious Purple,” she explained.

Not only has the size of her band upgraded but also her costumes. From cardboard material to lots of fabric, feathers and rhinestones this year. The kiddies are coming out in full force to impress the judges with their glamorous, fun and age-appropriate look.

Sherzel’s band is all-inclusive, with prices ranging from $100 up to $200 giving the kids from one-year old to 14, access to breakfast, lunch, jewelry, gift bags and even having their make-up professionally done.

Congrats on a job well done! We look forward to seeing Celia Snell’s band for Children’s Carnival Labor Day 2011.
