NYFW: 2011 Emerge! Runway Showcase in Review.

New York Fashion week saw the return of the EMERGE! Runway Showcase with new and fabulous designers, as well as the honoring of Essence’s Constance C.R. White as the Fashion Innovator of the Year.

Constance C.R. White is not only a 20-year fashion veteran but also the Editor-In-Chief of the black woman’s bible, Essence Magazine. Constance White was presented her 2011 Fashion Innovator Award by her friend and renown fashion designer, Tracy Reese. Ms White is not only a fashion vanguard with her own sense of unique style, influence and fashion power, she is also the daughter of Jamaican immigrants.

On September 13th 2011, the EMERGE! Runway Showcase intertwined fashion industry professionals, influencers, insiders and VIP’s with a few of the hottest new designers. The Broad Street Ballroom runway saw designs by Borris Powell of Borris Powell Designs, Oscars® Designer Challenge 2011 Winner, Kirk Johnson of b.-Vain Couture, Berny Martin of Catou and Adriana Osorio Lugo of Adriana Osorio Lugo Designs.

The D. Williams PR Group production was well executed by a full team of professionals working behind the scenes for yet a successful year. Styling by Tai Chunn of MVC Productions, Public Relations by Etophia Lane. Hair was styled by the Bennett Career Institute while Make-up was provided by Dex Cosmetics.
