Davian Bailey, was shot dead when gunmen invaded a recording studio on Dumbarton Avenue, on September 12 after a heated argument between Gyptian and DJ Frass.
Peter Champagnie has stated, “Gyptian was never detained or arrested. The police have been questioning a number of persons which include and is not limited to Gyptian. He was advised by the police that they needed to speak with him and so he went in and was questioned in my presence.”
According to police reports, about 5:45 p.m., a group of men, armed with guns, entered the recording studio and opened fire hitting Bailey multiple times.
It is reported that the men escaped in a white Honda motor car.
