Blackberry Outage affects North America, Canada, the Caribbean and JAY BLESSED!

As a die-hard blackberry user I totally ignored the murmurs yesterday of a blackberry outage, thinking that it was one of those stupid chain Blackberry messenger blasts that people tend to believe and send.

But today my best friend, buddy, pal and life source, also known as my “blackberry,” has not been able to deliver my emails and my BBMs.

This lack of BB love is about to send me into a dark downward spiral and put me through a severe withdrawal! There’s no little “D” to signal delivery and no little “R” to let me know that the bastards read my BBM and didn’t reply…..I get nothing today…nothing.

Upon digging I found out there is indeed a Blackberry outage and I am not alone in my misery.

Apparently Research in Motion acknowledged that “patchy email and blocked access to browsing and messaging has been plaguing users for as many as three days in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, India, Latin America, Caribbean and has now reached the U.S.”

In the Caribbean, the Associated Press said that telecommunications company Digicel issued a statement apologizing for the outage.

“Digicel is aware that some of its customers have been experiencing difficulties with their BlackBerry Service since 11:00pm on Tuesday, October 11th,” the statement said.

“RIM has confirmed that this is an issue that is currently impacting approximately 15 per cent of BlackBerry users across the Caribbean, plus Canada and Latin America. Our technical team is therefore working with RIM to get an update and to have this issue resolved as soon as possible,” the statement continued.

Even in Washington D.C., White House staffers and government officials are feeling like chickens without heads, actually having to having real live conversations instead of email chats!

So wait…am I really supposed to send emails from my laptop and actually pick up the phone to call and not text or BBM a friend?

Oh….bring back the ole time days when life was less hectic and easier!

Until that happens…bring back my damn blackberry service that TMobile and RIM charges me a separate monthly fee for!

And while RIM gets its act together, I’ll be here battling with my thoughts of jumping ship and moving over to the I-Phone world, just so I won’t have to see this same stupid painful joke retweeted on twitter:
