We’re hearing that the murder trials surrounding embattled dancehall superstar, Adidja “Vybz Kartel” Palmer might involve the police and not in the manner you expect.
According to the Jamaica Observer, six police officers assigned to the Gun Court Remand Centre could now be facing corruption charges after they were allegedly caught on video taking money from one of Vybz Kartel’s relatives.
Well then again, you can probably expect that!
Kartel, who is currently facing two murder charges amongst many others, is still in jail without a bail hearing as charges seem to be stacking on.
According to Outaroad.com, “Investigators from the police Anti-Corruption Branch followed one of the six police officers from the Gun Court Remand Centre to the home of Kartel’s relative, where he videotaped the law enforcement official taking money from her. Allegedly, the video shows the officer accepting money from the relative of the popular deejay in exchange for being allowed to visit Kartel in is restricted area of the Constant Spring jail. Additionally, reports revealed that the officer was not searched before being allowed into an area of the lock-up off limits to the public; spending a considerable amount of time with Kartel while other law enforcement officials allowed the illegal meeting to take place.”
Meanwhile, we’re hearing that the mother of Kartel’s children, Shorty, has been picked up by police. Not sure how true that is but….hmmmm….we wonder if she was the relative caught on camera?
