On Monday, embattled dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel was remanded into custody after appearing in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrates Court.
Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, was denied bail by Senior Magistrate Pusey and ordered to return to court on charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
On a “positive” note, Vybz Kartel’s protege Gaza Slim aka Vanessa Bling (born Vanessa Saddler), who is jointly charged, was offered bail when she appeared before the judge. Gaza Slim immediately posted bail in the Home Circuit Court and is expected to return to court alongside Kartel on February 1.
These charges stem from the murder Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams, where Gaza Slim was allegedly ordered by Kartel via text message to file a police report of a fake robbery as the cover up story.
On October 29, 2011, five days after Kartel was charged with Williams’ murder, Slim filed a police report at the Constant Spring Police Station, intimating that she was robbed and gun-butted by Williams during an incident in Havendale, St. Andrew.
The police are allegedly in possession of the cellphone evidence.
These constant charges and numerous arrests makes it so hard to keep up with this embattled dancehall group and their star leader. However, it is safe to say, things are only starting to heat up!
