Congratulations to the New York Giants, winners of the Super Bowl XLVI!

In an entertaining and nail biting game, the New York Giants won Super Bowl XLVI after close-fought 21-17 victory over New England Patriots in Indianapolis.

We at JAYBLESSED.com would like to shout out Jamaican-born guard and offensive tackle, Kevin Boothe, as well as, 23 year old defensive end, Jason Pierre-Paul (Haitian heritage), and not forgetting wide receiver, Puerto Rican Victor Cruz, who all play for the New York Giants.

But I am personally no American football chick, so my eyes were glued to the Super Bowl commercials and half time show to spot Caribbean celebs!

And I found them!

I was beaming with pride when I saw British Virgin Islander and the first X-Factor USA winner, Melanie Amaro in her Pepsi commercial, alongside Queen Elton John and Flavor Flav.

Nicki Minaj looked demure and cute in a royal cheerleader outfit for her Super Bowl debut. And to the dismay of many men, not once did she turn around to show off her famous derriere. Instead, she solidified her reign as Queen of Rap, appearing with M.I.A. and the original Queen of Pop, Madonna in an epic performance.

Nicki Minaj is the first Trinidadian to ever perform during a Super Bowl half time show! Congrats Nicki!

Notable mentioned to another Caribbean football player at Super Bowl XLVI was Patrick Christopher Chung, who played on the opposing team.

The Jamaican-born safety for the New England Patriots is also the son of Sophia George-Chung, best known for her 1985 hit “Girlie Girlie.”
