The 2012 International Soca Monarch Machel Montano defended his title with one of the most electrifying, mind-blowing, ethereal performances ever in the history of the competition!
The former child prodigy solidified his reign as Soca King when he concluded his performance of his 2012 Carnival hit, “Pump Yuh Flag” by literally flying above his competitors and the stadium!
Machel, who earlier leaned on celebrity stage cameos by famous Trinidadians, former West Indies batsman, Brian Lara and recent Project Runway winner, Anya Ayoung-Chee, left his fans and critics totally dumbfounded with his aeronautical stunt.
Machel boastfully declared, “ah going and put this flag of Trinidad and Tobago on de moon” before shockingly skyrocketing off the stage and flying over the stadium.

What an epic performance! We wonder if Richard Branson lent him that jetpack or was it from the Rocketman….hmmmmm?
