On Saturday night (February 18th), pan enthusiasts saw Neal and Massy Trinidad All Stars win its eighth National Panorama title in the large band category!
Neal and Massy Trinidad All Stars won the 2012 Panorama title with a Leon “Smooth” Edwards arrangement of Play Yourself, composed by Clive Telemaque and sung by Crazy (Edwin Ayoung), that earned 279 points and the $1 million first prize. The band also won the People’s Choice award.
All Stars retained their titled by two points ahead of close rival Petrotrin Phase II Pan Groove at Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain.

All Stars has previously won the Panorama in 1973; 1980; 1981; 1986; 2002; 2007; 2011.

Meanwhile, Tobago steelband Katzenjammers, also retained their title as the champion in the medium band category, at Saturday night’s National Panorama Finals at the Queen’s Park Savannah in Port-of-Spain.
The Black Rock-based Katzenjammers performed Eunice Peters’ “This is Bacchanal,” (arranged by Edwin Pouchet) winning the first prize of $600,000.
