Last Friday Machel Montano successfully defended his Power title and reclaimed the $2 million prize for the Digicel International Soca Monarch and also copped his first ever, Play Whe Groovy Monarch title.
But if that was grand, the icing on the cake for Mr. Fete was sealing the triple win with the coveted Road March crown.
Machel has become only the third person to win both titles in a year which include former winners Shurwayne Winchester (2006) and Fay Ann Lyons-Alvarez (2009).
Fay-Ann Lyons was last to win all three titles of Power Soca & Groovy Soca Monarch plus the Road March titles back in 2009.
This year Montano is celebrating his 30 years in business and also recently launch his own liquor brand to commemorate the achievement.
