Congratulations to Margo Kitsy Brodie, a deputy chief of the Criminal Division in the Eastern District U.S. Attorney’s Office who was confirmed 86-2 by the U.S. Senate on Feb. 27 to a slot on the Eastern District bench.
Ms. Brodie, a 43-year-old native of Antigua, has been in the U.S. attorney’s office for about 10 years and was named chief of the general crimes unit in 2007.
Before that, she worked on commercial cases at Carter, Ledyard & Milburn for five years.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Ms. Brodie began her legal career as an assistant corporation counsel for New York City.
She also has served as a legal advisor to a Nigerian antipublic corruption commission and to law enforcement officials in Trinidad investigating financial and intellectual property crimes.
The confirmation leaves one open seat at the Eastern District. The White House has yet to announce a nominee.
