Monday night, New York’s elite showed up in their glamorous attire for Anna Wintour & VOGUE’s Costume Institute Gala Benefit or 2012 MET Ball held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
You know that Caribbean people are always in the mix of everything – matter of fact, things don’t pop off if we aren’t there!
Anyhoo…enough typing, peep the photos below of the fabulous designer garb worn by your favorite celebrities:
Rihanna represented for Barbados in a black fitted , floor length crocodile Tom Ford gown. Gorge!

Despite the very simple look in front, Rihanna jazzed up the sex appeal with a deep V back and slit at the back.

Beautiful.
All need for this to be absolutely perfect would have been…

…a comb!
LaLa repped for Puerto Rico in this bold, curve hugging yet regal, royal blue Zac Posen gown…

And the best accessory for the night….hubby decked in a custom Rag And Bone tux!
Designer Rachel Roy repping St. Vincent, arrived in a very simple, glitteringly nude floor length number. While her good friend and date, Solange Knowles, who wore her design.

Solange looked stunning in this delicate, canary yellow Rachel Roy gown with her favorite big hair and minimal makeup…Fab!

Alicia Keys and her percentage of Jamaican ancestry showed up a well tailored pant suit and toe less shoes, while hubby Swizz Beats opted for a complete shoe for his look!

Puerto Rican-born model, Joan Smalls rocked a sizzling Balmain mini dress, accompanied by her darling, Olivier Rousteing.

Bruno Mars, who’s dad hails from Puerto Rico, went the dapper route in navy blue Prada suit with matching shoes.

Though she is not Caribbean, Janelle Monae was just recently in Tobago, headlining at the annual Tobago Jazz Festival. The “Tight Rope” singer looks great in her signature black with just a little bit of sparkle for effect.

Rosario Dawson inherited Puerto Rican and Cuban blood from her mother. Dawson looked amazing is this fitted leather gown by Calvin Klein.

Though we are not sure of Chanel Iman’s ancestry on her father’s side. We are certain that she showed up with Tom Ford at her side, encased is this jaw-dropping creation!

NY Giants star and NFL champ, Victor Cruz, must have gotten his charisma and sexy salsa step from his Puerto Rican mother. Baller status!

American rapper Azelia Banks might not have Caribbean blood, but in this photo with Alexander Wang, she sure as hell reminds me of a young Trini-reppin’ rapper popularly known as Foxy Brown!

But inspite all of our “Caribbean” reps at the MET, there was one person who shut down the red carpet with her arrival….

All hail Queen Bey!

Beyonce gave a whole new meaning to the term, “Hot Mama,” when she arrived in a dramatically sheer Givenchy Haute Couture gown covered in intricate detailing.

The bodices had embroidery and sequin details….

While the bottom of the dress was filled with black and purple feathery action for a dramatic train.

Did she just have a baby? Gotdamn!

Shake yuh tail feather Beyonce….you looked phenomenal!
