Fresh off his Japan tour, Jamaican singjay, Baby Chris, says he is busy in the studio putting final touches to his first album.
The yet-to-be-titled project is slated to be released this summer and hears the wiry Baby Chris collaborating with dancer-cum-deejay Ding Dong, Future Fambo, Iyara and Determine.
“I’m very excited about my latest collaboration with Ding Dong called The Night Is Very Young. It has been getting great rotation on the airwaves,” he said.
Last year, Baby Chris, born Christopher Lloyd, signed a two-year deal with American record company Five Star Recording Inc which will distribute his album.
The London-based performer has been recording for 20 years but got his big break six years ago. In 2005, he teamed with Linstead-born duo Lenky and Orthadox and formed the group LOC. That year, they recorded the song Ring Ding Ding for Jet Star Records. It was a solid hit in Britain and parts of Europe and earned the trio a Urban Music Award in England.
Baby Chris has been a solo act for the last three years and has released several singles including Ring Ding Ding Part 2. He is also known for other songs such as Dagga Train, Mama, and What Did I Do.
