Rihanna was ranked the fourth most powerful celebrity in 2012 with earnings of $53 million between May 2011 and May 2012, according to Forbes.
The Bajan beauty’s ground-breaking earnings solidified her place on Forbes magazine’s annual list of the 100 most powerful celebrities in the world.
The Forbes list is not governed strictly by the bottom line but also includes a “Social Rank” (TV/radio presence and levels of press and social media attention).
With her 53 million Facebook fans as well as millions of followers on Twitter, Rihanna came in second in the Social Rank category.
Forbes reportedly indicated that “The Barbados-born diva lands on our list for the first time thanks to hits including ‘We Found Love’ and ‘Talk That Talk,’ as well as endorsements with Vito Coco and Nivea.”
“Her fragrance Reb’l Fleur adds millions more to her coffers, as does her heavy touring schedule that included over 85 shows in the past 12 months.”
Jennifer Lopez took the number-one slot, unseating Lady Gaga who took top honors last year but fell to number-five in the 2012 rankings.
Oprah Winfrey holds on to the #2 spot with teen heart-throb, Justin Bieber has the #3 position.
