Consul General in New York, Mrs Rudrawatee Nan Ramgoolam attended the Caribbean Week event in New York at Grand Central Station in New York City on Wednesday 6th June 2012 which was organized by the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO). She visited booths in a festive atmosphere created by the proliferation of Caribbean displays in the main hall of Grand Central Station where Trinidad and Tobago was one of many countries which was represented.
The event also included a luncheon for Ministers, Commissioners, Directors of Tourism and Board of Directors hosted by Trinidad and Tobago’s Tourism Development Company in the Vanderbilt Suite. Minister Griffith addressed the audience and outlined the challenges and plans for improving the tourism industry in Trinidad and Tobago. Tobago House of Assembly representative, Mr. Ritchie M. Toppin also made remarks at the event.

Later that afternoon, the Consul General discussed opportunities for promoting Trinidad and Tobago with the Minister Griffith, Chairman of TDC, Rajiv Shandilya, and Deputy Chairman Janelle “Penny” Chow. Minister Griffith and the TDC officials congratulated the Consul General on the significant work undertaken by the Consulate General and pledged material support for upcoming events.
