The world is mourning the death of Yvette Wilson- the acclaimed comedienne and actress best known for her role on 90′s sitcom, Moesha. Wilson lost her battle with cervical cancer at the age of 48 due to lack of funding to aid with her medical expenses.
Pop superstar Nicki Minaj was so outraged by the injustice of Wilson’s death, that she took to twitter to take a political stance about the U.S. health system to her millions of followers.
In response to a fan who tweeted of Wilson’s death, the mogul explained:
(She) had to raise [insert dollar] for her MEDS.
What’s sad is that when Yvette was bringing home the bacon, the gov’t was probably taking millions. On her deathbed though, #Nowheretobefound.
That should be a God given right! Even with Obama Care, too much involved. Just give FREE health care to all. @barackobama What can we do?
@BarackObama I wouldn’t mind the millions they took if it was going to healthcare. Why should a poor person struggle to pay for MEDS sir?
Moved by her message, Questo of The Roots replied:
@NICKIMINAJ i personally know that the white house administration would LOVE for you to use ur tweet power to raise health care awareness
@NICKIMINAJ seriously dm me, they need that energy you convey’d last night about Yvette Wilson’s health crisis! you can help!.
Minaj is yet to respond to Questo publicly.
It’s crazy though, in Trinidad, the third world country of Nicki Minaj’s birth, there is free health care for all but in the almighty America, families suffer because they have no heath benefits.
Let’s hope Nicki does land that invitation and knock ‘em dead with her intelligence.
