The intimate mixer was held at Neely’s Barbecue Parlor on the Upper East Side with esteemed guests including Chris Blackwell Jr. son of legendary Island Records founder Chris Blackwell, Carol Maraj, mother of Nicki Minaj, celebrity photographer Ronny Wright, publicist extraordinaire and Calabash, Karen Hunter.Carol Maraj at the Calabash Consortium Soiree Fundraiser
Geoff Cooper, founder of the Calabash Consortium was host for the evening, indulging donors to partake in the sponsored Blackwell rum cocktails but not before his lively conversations about Calabash’s YWEEP and summer programs.
Cooper also stated that his organization will be bringing former Destiny’s Child, Michelle Williams and comedian turned philanthropic mogul, Steve Harvey, to Trinidad for this year’s Calabash Consortium youth summer program.
