Arti Cameron’s chance to represent Guyana at the Miss World Pageant looks bleak … again!

Arti’s participation in the pageant which will be held in Ordos, Upper Mongolia China, later this year seems improbable because of the lack of sponsorship. The US-Based Guyanese non-governmental Organization, The Guyana Tri-State Alliance (GTSA) alluded to the fact that the Miss World Pageant is a month long and would require Arti to be in Mongolia on July 18 for the pageant to be staged August 18.
Franchise holder, UK based Guyanese Businessman Ken Chung and local organizer, Ms Aletha Shepherd have contributed nothing to Arti’s participation in the pageant.
Arti will be Guyana’s representative for the Miss World Pageant for the second time as she was denied her right to represent Guyana last year due to visa issues. She was granted the right to hold the crown for two years in order to fulfill the pageant commitments however yet again arises more issues.
The GTSA is working diligently to get Arti to the Miss World Pageant in China. “We are appealing to you, I know that we can do it, and not let this opportunity pass. I am asking to come together and sponsor her ticket… The target amount we are hoping to raise is $5,000.00.″
Meanwhile, Arti has been working industriously to promote herself and her crown; she has been making public appearances at all Guyanese festivals overseas, modelling at various fashions shows and currently she’s on the cover of Shabeau Magazine.

Let’s hope Arti is afforded the opportunity this time again to represent her dear land at the Miss World Pageant.
