Trinidadian International rap superstar, Nicki Minaj, has set a new record on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for her single “Starships.”
The dance-pop single has been on the Billboard Top 10 for 21 weeks after being debuted at No. 9 on the chart for the first time on March 3. “Starships” has been going back and forth between No. 10 and its No. 5.
“Overall, ‘Starships’ has reached 1.3 billion cumulative audience impressions and has pushed 3.2 million downloads” according to Nielsen SoundScan.
This milestone marks the most consecutive times that a top 10-debuting song has remained on the charts for. “Starships” passes the Black Eyed Peas’ “I Gotta Feeling,” which spent its first 20 weeks in the top 10.
Congratulations Nicki!!!!!
