Another proud moment for Usain Bolt, Jamaica and the Caribbean came as a result of Bolt winning the 200 meter finals with his fellow Jamaican teammates right behind him.
Bolt, 25, is now the first sprinter in Olympic history to win back to back sprinter doubles. Yohan Blake came in second to capture the silver and newbie Warren Weir, third to snatch the bronze and to give Jamaican a clean sweep in the 200 meter event.
Bolt crossed the line in 19.32 seconds, Blake, 22, at 19.44 and Weir, 22, at 19.84.
This win and the win in the 100 meter finals, last Saturday duplicates the 100meter-200meter double Bolt produced in China in 2008. He, however, didn’t break any world records in year. But he did do his signature cruise to the finish. Ha!
Bolt was overly ecstatic and full of energy after his win. So full of energy that he did five push-ups and even decided to do a bit of photography taking the camera from one of the photographers on the side-lines and flashing people in the stadium. He kissed the ground in gratitude as well.
Usain Bolt now has five gold medals under his belt.
Jamaica, no doubt is extremely proud of their young men. 1, 2, 3 for Jamaica!!!
What a medal ceremony!!!
