Earlier this month telececommunications giant, Digicel, proudly announced that Antiguan and Barbudan hitmaker, Ricardo Drue, was selected as its newest Brand Ambassador.
Ricardo, who rose to stardom this year with the hit songs “Sugar” and “Superman”, has been catapulted into the international soca spotlight and is considered to be a strong contender in upcoming soca music ceremonies.
Speaking about the partnership, Ricardo said; “I’m honoured to be a Digicel Brand Ambassador and aligning my music with the youth and vibrancy of Digicel. It’s a fantastic step in the right direction for my career and I’m really excited about that.”
Digicel Antigua and Barbuda Marketing Manager, Troy Byrne, said; “We are thrilled to be welcoming Ricardo to the Digicel family as Brand Ambassador. At Digicel, we are all about supporting and celebrating the culture of our twin island state, and this partnership with Ricardo is doing just that.
“For us, Ricardo symbolises the energy and passion of Digicel and our customers and we are excited about the potential to bring the fans closer to their heroes – and as such, we are very excited about working with him.”
Ricardo Drue’s manager, Karim Kharma Harrigan, said; “We are very happy to see corporate Antigua and Barbuda supporting local music. I believe that Ricardo’s partnership with Digicel will raise his profile as a soca artist and broaden his fast-growing fan base.”
