Dancehall artiste G-Whizz changes his moniker to his real name

Jamaican dancehall artiste G-Whizz is back and will be performing under a new moniker … his birth name, Garland Rowe.

The name change accompanies his switch to strictly reggae and one drop songs. He thinks that his real name is a more mature name for his new songs to come.

“It nah go impact negatively on my career, trust me. Mi nah dash way the name G Whizz, a it buss me, mi just a spice up di ting. I’m taking things to another level.”

He has also released a new single under his new stage name and accordingly to him, his new name has been accepted with great responses so far.

Many persons have commended him on his name change, while others have voiced their concern about it not being a good move for him.

G-Whizz Garland Rowe said : “I’ve been on the scene since 2009 and now mi a pree the long term side of mi career, so I’ll be doing more reggae songs instead of dancehall. I started out singing, so now I’m going back to my roots. Right now I’m just gonna be flooding the market with one-drop reggae songs.”
