Bunny Rugs – the lead singer of Third World, one of the most successful international pop reggae band since 1980s – unleashes his new studio album TIME on September 11th off his own label Raw Edge Productions distributed exclusively by VPAL.
Featuring Rugs’ infectious pop and rock reggae vibes and top-notch live instrumentation and production, his new album will stand the test of TIME. In the ever-changing world, Bunny Rugs proves that some things remain constant and love conquers all.
Those familiar with the Third World band (“96 Degrees In The Shade”7 “Reggae Ambassador”) will undoubtedly recognize the inspirational vocal style that Rugs helped translate into an international pop sound. Songs on Bunny’s new solo album like “Don’t Give It Up” and “Never Gonna Give Up” boast the quintessential roots rock reggae sound, while plaintive love ballads like “It’s Time,” “Just Deny,” “We’ve Got The Formula” and “Settling Down” will strike a chord among soul aficionados. Fans will also enjoy the soft reggae rock heard on “Heaven Sent – Dat Feeling” and “Bed Of Roses” and the easy pop listening evoked on “What Kinda Man.”
The album’s first single “Land We Love” is a modern day praise anthem celebrating Jamaica’s 50th year of independence. The proceeds from the single will benefit their charity Jamaica Children’s Heart Fund / Chain of Hope. The accompanying video, directed by Ras Tingle, features cameos from Dean Fraser, bassist Taddy P, Cat Coore and Tony “Ruption” Williams of Third World.
