Rohan Marley opens up about Lauryn Hill: “I wanted to marry Lauryn”

After a year of silence over the break up with Lauryn Hill, Rohan Marley says that his relationship with the Ex Factor singer is “good” when it comes to the welfare of their children.

In an exclusive with UK’s The Voice, the businessman and son of reggae star Bob Marley, admits that things aren’t perfect between him and the mother of five of his children. But he says that since their split last year, after more than a decade together, they both remain good parents to their children.

“[Our relationship] is good as in… in terms of being a mother and father to our children, it’s good,” says Marley, who is now engaged to Brazilain supermodel Isabeli Fontana. “It’s not as perfect as one might want it to be. It’s just the way the road went.”

Speaking of their highly publicized break-up, the 40-year-old co-founder of gourmet coffee company Marley Coffee, added: “As a man, there are certain things I don’t accept, and it just so happened that I didn’t accept certain things [in the relationship].

“It doesn’t mean she’s [Hill] a bad person or I’m a bad person. It just didn’t work out.”

(Hmmm….we wonder if two of those things would be cheating (double standard) and then getting pregnant by another man….yeah….that’s rough!)

Last summer Lauryn confirmed that Rohan was NOT the father of her sixth child. She stated:

“Mr. Marley and I have a long and complex history about which MANY inaccuracies have been reported since the beginning. To speculate without the facts can only cause people to form WRONG conclusions. We both value privacy and for that reason defend and preserve our right to it. Contrary to the numerous reports, Mr. Marley did not abandon me while pregnant with his child. We have had long periods of separation over the years but our 5 children together remain a joy to both of us. Thank you for your concern and I appreciate all of the well wishes regarding the birth of my new son.”

After Lauryn‘s announcement there were rumors going around the Marley had said he was not expecting another child and nor was he married any longer, but then Rohan actually set the record straight with this:

 “I’m forwarding all well wishes to Ms. Hill on the birth of her new son. I’m sure she’ll appreciate the love being sent to her RASTAFARI R.M.”
