After five years and five months since the incident, Magistrate Maureen Baboolal-Gafoor has postponed the ruling on reigning Soca Monarch Machel Montano’s assault matter until November 23rd.
The ruling was to be handed down recently when Montano accompanied by his attorney Dana Seetahal went to the Port-of-Spain magistrate’s, Baboolal-Gafoor said she needed more time to carefully consider the evidence before giving her ruling and postponed her decision to November 23rd.

Montano, along with the son of the late lord Kitchener, Kernel Roberts, Rodney “Benjai” Leblanc and Joel “Zan” Feveck are all facing assault charges stemming from a fracas outside the Zen Nightclub on Keate Street, Port of Spain, in April of 2007.
They were accused of assaulting Brandis Browne, Russell Pollonais, Janelle Lee-Chee and Gerard Borwin outside the club on April 26.
