Ruqayyah Boyer has been crowned Miss Guyana Universe 2012 by reigning Miss Universe 2011, Leila Lopes, who was the special guest at the Miss Universe Guyana 2012 beauty pageant held at the Princess Hotel on Saturday night of 15th September, 2012.
The twenty year old Boyer was born in Suriname but her parents are Guyanese and she has lived most of her life there.
First runner up went Nikita Barker who also won the awards for Miss ‘Body Beautiful’ and ‘Best Smile.’
Sadhna Yunus and Nikesha Alexander were place second and third runners up respectively, while Fayedha King was fourth runner-up. Eumani Bourne won ‘Miss Congeniality.’
This is not Boyer’s first pageant title, she also won the Miss Linden Town week 2010 pageant, however, failed to place in the Miss Guyana World 2011 pageant.
During the question and answer segment Boyer was asked who was her role model and why, she responded the, her role model was the reigning Miss Universe Leila Lopes. (Smart girl! LOL)
Miss Guyana Universe 2011 Kara Lord and reigning Miss Universe Leila Lopes crowned the new queen.
The judges of the pageant were Steve Ninvalle, Roger Gary, Candace Lindo, Ulex Atwell-Fung, Paul Burnette, Rawle Ferguson, Richard Younge, Basil Joseph, Shermaine Joseph, and Chris Sammy.
Ruqayyah Boyer will represent Guyana at the Miss Universe Pageant on December 11.
