As the newest artist on industry veteran Russell “Block” Spencer’s Block Entertainment label, Kris Kelli is ready to share her musical blend of edgy, hip-hop, pop and Caribbean vibes with audiences in the U.S. and beyond with the debut of her first first mixtape entitled “Sell Off.”
A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Kris Kelli’s music career began when she was discovered by Nelly Furtado’s manager at a Kingston karaoke bar at the age of seventeen. After releasing a series of hit songs, including collaborations with giants Beenie Man and Vybz Kartel in her native Jamaica, Kris Kelli was ready for more.
Block and his team answered the call and began the year long process of developing new music and a new sound that would match Kris Kelli’s incredible talent.
“Kris Kelli is the total package,” says Block. “She’s beautiful, has an amazing voice and is one of the most down-
to-earth people you will ever meet. Watch out for this one.”
U.S. audiences were introduced to Kris Kelli earlier this year when she collaborated with fellow Block Entertainment label mate, Gorilla Zoe for “Me & You.” The song, which quickly became one of the most requested songs on Atlanta’s V-103.3 FM, pays homage to Method Man and Mary J. Blige with a sample of the hip-hop classic “All I Need.”
Kris has been busy honing her crafts and relentlessly pushing her limits in the studio. The result of her hardwork is “Sell Off.” A sexy blend of hot beats, seductive rhythms and beautiful vocals that entrance the listener. Kris Kelli’s first official single on the Block Entertainment label, “Home Run,” is a suggestive track that illustrates the Jamaican beauty’s ability to lace her West Indian roots with danceable hip- hop beats.
