Italian-trained classical soprano, marie-claire, will be performing at Manhattan’s Metropolitan Room on Tuesday October 23rd.
Hailing from the nature isle of Dominica, the Caribbean diva accompanied by her quintet, will perform jazz standards, such as “Save Your Love For Me,“ “Caravan,“ “Misty,“ and “Route 66” featured on her upcoming album under the covers produced by Grammy award-winning Scott Jacoby.
marie-claire’s eclectic fusion of opera with reggae, dancehall and hip hop will feature prominently when she performs songs including “Rastaman Chant” and “Constellation” (written for her by Reggae legend Bob Andy) from her debut EP, Dreamland.
marie-claire’S successful career has allowed her to perform at the famous Canergie Hall. Her music has even been featured in the films Lovin Jezebel, The Roommate and marie-claire herself was part of the cast of the second season of The Chappelle Show on Comedy Central.
