Decembre Snowe is Queen of the Gay Caribbean USA!
St. Lucia’s Decembre Snowe was crowned Queen at the 2012 Gay Caribbean USA Pageant which was held in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday 29th, September.
Miss Snowe made history having been the first St. Lucian to win the coveted crown. She battled with seven other contestants who represented various Caribbean islands.
Lucretia Corian who sat on the judging panel said that December Snowe was very consistent during every appearance but especially stood out in the Evening Wear Segment. The contestant’s talent and wardrobe was created by Peacopat Designs.
The lineup of contestants performed dance numbers, skits and solo vocals among other pieces which were highly entertaining for their talents. They all looked stunning in their evening wear gowns. That segment was breath taking and in my view the most impressive.
The pageant was infused with extremely entertaining attractions, leaving no time to be bored. The members of the audience were either transfixed to the stage or up and off their seats dancing throughout the show’s duration. Where by, leaving the organizers to conclude that the 2012 Gay Caribbean USA Pageant was a resounding success.Patty Cakes Miss Trinidad and Tobago Detoxx Busti Miss Jamaica Charley Marie Miss Independent
At night’s end, crowd favorite to win, Patty Cakes of Trinidad and Tobago was in the second place followed by Jamaica’s Detoxx Busti. Patty Cakes also won for Best Talent with her live and powerful rendition of Whitney Houston’s I Have Nothing. Charley Marie who was an independent contestant won the award for Best Female Impersonator.
While the organizers are basking in the overwhelming success and strides of this year’s pageant, they are looking forward to 2013. The reason being, at that time, the event will celebrate its 5th year of helping to bridge the gap between the Gay and Heterosexual Caribbean American Communities.
