Morgan’s Heritage youngest band member Mojo Morgan has given his family and fans quite a scare after he fell critically ill and consequently was admitted at Aventura Hospital and Medical Center in Aventura, Florida.
Statement from Mojo Morgan:
They say when your on your last, you will have all the time in the world to reflect. With the grace and mercy of the most high and all the support from family and friends, it has never become more clearer that “New Dawn” symbolizes a rebirth not only for it’s listeners but also for me personally.
After just coming out of a bitter breakup over the last 1 1/2 years – of which I take full responsibility for with the mother of all of my children except my last – it has finally taken it’s toll on my physical health. Starting a new family, promoting my new single “New Dawn” and the recently released “The Return” EP from Morgan Heritage (MH) and currently in the studio finishing both the new MH studio album and my solo debut full length album, they have all added their share of mental stress.
My spiritual strength is for sure intact. The father above has shown me that when he is for us, no one can be against us. If we put all our trust in him, all will be well with us. I’m grateful because he has provided me with a strong woman to support me during this transitional phase of my life. The love of all my children along with my entire group and father has been my most vigilant reinforcement.
To the world I send my never ending thanks and love for all the prayer, love and support that has been pouring in from all directions. It’s a new dawn; It’s a new day; It’s a new life for me. And i’m on my way once again to being able to say I’m 100% feeling good.

Doctors have concluded that Mojo contracted a viral infection. They were unable to narrow it down due to the severity of his condition when admitted, but his symptoms were likened to that of Viral Meningitis. He was therefore treated rigorously for this infection. Though his blood pressure surged due to this infection, all his vitals have since been normalized. A few minor results are still pending but they expect Mojo to be released any day now.
Mojo Morgan will be joining his siblings as Morgan Heritage hits the stage on November 2nd at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. Thereafter Mojo will be back on the promotional trail spreading the spirit and essence of Nina Simone with the “New dawn” single featuring his brother Peetah Morgan. He admits that he chose the song wanting to introduce the legendary R&B Jazz vocalist Nina Simone to a new generation to echo the sentiments that no matter life’s tribulations, each new day brings hope, a renewed faith and a chance to try again.
