Ever since his birthday on October 17th, when he tweeted the now infamous photo of himself half oiled-up / half ashy, in a tiny red speedo on his Ducati motorcycle, Wyclef Jean has finally addressed what possessed him to bare his assets to the world!
After taking quite the beating on the web from the circulating photo, Wyclef dishes to NY’s Power 105.1′s The Breakfast Club that it’s an old picture from a photo shoot that was already circulating on the web.
“First of all, the pic with the Speedo, that’s an old pic. I’m part of a bike club. Bike-Clef wore Speedos at the time. That’s actually an old photo shoot, and those photos are actually up on Facebook or Instagram,” he said. “This is actually a photoshoot for a company in Italy. I said ‘I turned 43, I feel 26′ based on that photo shoot that I had did. I’m telling you when I did the photo shoot so that you clear, right?”
During his visit ‘Clef also announced some interesting news.
He will be opening a club in New York City that will be welcoming to people of all backgrounds, set to open in 2013.
“I have an announcement. In six months to nine months, I will be opening my own place in New York City. The reason why I’m doing this is because back in the days, we had like the original Copacabana. And I feel that we can use a spot in New York that has culture — where it’s deejay culture, it’s band culture, it’s lounge culture, it’s vibe — where it’s an eclectic vibe. So I’m just letting y’all know in advance. So we’ll have international night, where all cultures share. So I look forward to seeing y’all, with food, music, and vibe. And It’s going to be called The Refugee Lounge. It will be in Manhattan. Right now, we’re negotiating.”
